Keeping Maker Green with 'Maker Green Team'Our very own Maker Green Team (see offsite link on left) did us proud again last year on the recycling and waste management. www.maker-green-team.org What a mission! 70% RECYCLING ACHIEVED BY GREEN TEAM IN 2007Daryn Manchip (Green Team coordinator) set us a massive target to recycle more than 70% of the waste produced over the weekend. This was achieved once again!! Yes 70% - achieved through hard work (mostly) and cooperation by yourselves, the festival-goers.
TARGET FOR 2008 - NO GLASS ON SITEWe are aiming to keep the site that bit safer this year by saying NO GLASS ON SITE PLEASE. In general I would like to ask at this early stage that we start thinking green and make this year’s event as waste neutral as possible. The Maker Green Team will be issuing recycling bags on arrival again which we really encourage you to use. There will be drop off and collection points for waste and recycled materials and if we all take time in our day to clean up around ourselves it will make the site a cleaner, tidier place and we can be rightly proud that our festival community is achieving better recycling levels than out there in the real world (wherever that is!) Recycle - Reduce - Reuse and keep it tidy!
